Hugh's birthday

Today is my husband birthday.... I won't say how old he is.....We celebrated his birthday in his favorite way.... quietly.... we had a really nice supper, I gave his birthday gift...a GPS for his truck.... I must make a confession.... I took his gift with me at the regional this weekend and used it before I gave it to him....Well I had to make sure that it worked... ah ah ah

I also made  him a birthday card that he really loved.... you see he loves Owls..so naturally I used my new owl punch

Now I must again confess that this is not my original design... but I can't remember where  I have seen it or how close to the original design it is... so if this you card design... thank you for the inspiration and please drop me a line so that I can give you credit on the design

Back from the Regionals in Hamilton...

Wow!!! what a weekend.... I enjoyed every minutes of it....
I have learned so much more.... Made quite a few cards.... swaped cards, but most important of all... created friendships.  I must thank Donna who tucked me under her wing... I would have been so lost without herhere are some of the picture of cards that we did at the pre Regional with Heather

 Aren't these the cutest

Halloween

Finally a minute to myself.

I must first mention that I am a little sad as today is the 4th year anniversary of the passing of my friend Glen Arnold, an excellent Medic KIA in Afghanistan..... Here's to You Arnie....

This week as been absolutely crazy at work...I would get home exhausted but of course... work does not stop when I get off the base.... Then the real work begin.... homework, housework, supper and of course mommy work.  just thinking of all of that I get tired.

With the Regional coming in 6 days... I have to get everything organized for my Army work and family work.... not to mention getting ready for the regional itself.

I have been working or trying to work on these cards for my wonderful mother in Law Pan, she had asked me for 2 cards for Halloween.

Now I wish that I could take full credits for these cards but My friend Katrina Steele, is the one that came up with the techniques and colors for the images.

It is a combination of masking and using the brayer over glossy white paper.
Now Katrina used various DP and a distressing technique on her cards....

I do not have any of the DP and distressing is not my favorite technique....So... I used the spider web embossing folder from the mini catalogue.  I just love the versatility of these folders.

If you want the colors and the direction on how to make this card.... please email me.... and I will gladly hook you up.

Enjoy

This is it

I took the big plunge and went live....So Scary...

Finally after years of creating in "secret"  Keeping my creations to myself, thinking that it was never good enough, hiding it whenever someone glanced at it, saying that it was not for sale when someone offered to buy it.  I finally am ready to break down the barriers and let it all out.

I think that I need a drink...

I will post more of the projects that I have already completed ... and trust me there is lots of them... but I need first to figure out how to create and place a watermark before I post them...  Any Suggestions??

Well there is no turning back now...... Soldier on!!!

A Work In Progress

Hello,

Here are some more pictures of my workshop... it is far from being finished, but I love everything about it. Even if it is a very small room, the workspace is spacious enough that I am not tripping over myself.... There is even enough room for a friend to come and play : )

The bars and baskets are from IKEA and they are extremely reasonable....$2.99 for a bar and $4.99 for a basket.

New workshop

My wonderful husband is an Engineer in the military, but prior to that he was a cabinet maker. He worked really hard on building me this wonderful piece of furniture so that I can create. He carved the legs himself and made me this outstanding work surface. Thank you Honey, I am so blessed. Please stay tuned for the finish project.

Elizabeth and Sophie

A Week before Elizabeth came down for the summer they had to put down the family beloved pet Sophie. she was 16 years old. she had been a constant companion for my two older daughters. While I was cleaning Elizabeth's room prior to her arrival, I found this picture behind the head board. I had never seen it before. I decided to make a special project for celebrating Elizabeth and Sophie.. and here is what I came up with. Elizabeth loves her picture.   and Yes they are skateboarding.....
