New look!!!

Well??? What do you think?

I absolutely love it!!!   I wanted the look of a travel journal... as I always have one with me no matter where I deploy to... weather on tasking , on course, or overseas.  I am always writing, drawing or coloring.

The Poppie flower was also very important... it is the symbol of remembrance... "Lest we forget"

Michelle you are the best...

I am also very excited to announce that Katrina, Lisa and Myself are putting together a stampfest event scheduled on Feb 05, 2011  at the Petawawa Legion... more to follow on that.

I spent yesterday a delightful day at Katrina's place with Lisa... where good food, laugh and of course stamping filled the day... I made 4 cards inspired by Debbie Macneil... I did not quite completed them intending to do so once I got home.... instead I created (actually re-created) 2 other cards from "Sunshine design" from a  watercolor class that I took with Krista Schneider.

Well I will  gone for a few days to visit ma petite Maman and my brother

Have a Wonderfull New Year

New exciting changes....(well for me it is..)

First and foremost  I am going to take a little break from Dec 22 until Jan 5, 2011... I need to spend time with my family... It is a very special treat for both of us to be home and not deployed during this time
I know that once again I had gone AWOL...I have been preoccupied with work, volunteering, kids and a little incident at my home involving my husband and the stone chimney.... and of course getting ready for Christmas....
Anyhow on to my news...I will soon have a new Blog design from "Laycock Designs"  I am so excited...
At least my blog will be a little more organised and I will be able to keep up with catalogues and upcoming event.with side buttons and signature... no more fumbling around trying to figure out  layout and design... I am super psyched because...it's like she saw what I wanted in  my head and just pulled it out and made it real...

I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning... I can't wait...
I want to also take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones and a prosperous New Year

Christmas swap Day 1

24 Days of Christmas!

Our Artful Inker's team is doing a 24 days of Christmas swap. As I mentioned on my earlier blog.  We each made 24 items and swapped with one another so that on each day in December we get to open a different homemade gift! Because I live away from them, I had to exchange mine by mail.
I am waiting eagerly for my parcel... It on it's way!!!.... But I went on a teammate Blog and peak at what would be in today's swap.... So I borrowed her pictures ... just for today. Today's swap is from Samantha. Here what Michelle as to say about it " I just love the snowman, he's so darn cute and then inside was this beautiful Christmas star ornament. " My sentiments exactly.... I can't wait to put my hands on this little beauty....

Stop by again tomorrow for day 2's surprise!... FYI.... I might have to borrow pictures from my team mate  for that one as well....... soon... mine will be here!!!

Christmas Swap

I have been so busy with work, appointments, tasktings,  trying to keep my house from falling apart.. as if I needed more I had an accident with the truck... I almost went of a bridge when the front tire blew.... My husband beloved truck was totalled... I offered him my Jeep... but he fancied a shinny new Red Toyota instead.

Here is what I have been up to lately... Other than what I have mentioned above of course.

These little gift bags were made with the Big shot "favor Fancy" die on Kraft paper
then randomly stamped in "Not quite navy" and "River rock"  Finally a greeting and a snow flake adorned with a jewel rhinestone.

I am not revealing what's inside the bags... as they can't be opened until the December 19th...

Hugh's birthday

Today is my husband birthday.... I won't say how old he is.....We celebrated his birthday in his favorite way.... quietly.... we had a really nice supper, I gave his birthday gift...a GPS for his truck.... I must make a confession.... I took his gift with me at the regional this weekend and used it before I gave it to him....Well I had to make sure that it worked... ah ah ah

I also made  him a birthday card that he really loved.... you see he loves Owls..so naturally I used my new owl punch

Now I must again confess that this is not my original design... but I can't remember where  I have seen it or how close to the original design it is... so if this you card design... thank you for the inspiration and please drop me a line so that I can give you credit on the design

Back from the Regionals in Hamilton...

Wow!!! what a weekend.... I enjoyed every minutes of it....
I have learned so much more.... Made quite a few cards.... swaped cards, but most important of all... created friendships.  I must thank Donna who tucked me under her wing... I would have been so lost without herhere are some of the picture of cards that we did at the pre Regional with Heather

 Aren't these the cutest

Halloween

Finally a minute to myself.

I must first mention that I am a little sad as today is the 4th year anniversary of the passing of my friend Glen Arnold, an excellent Medic KIA in Afghanistan..... Here's to You Arnie....

This week as been absolutely crazy at work...I would get home exhausted but of course... work does not stop when I get off the base.... Then the real work begin.... homework, housework, supper and of course mommy work.  just thinking of all of that I get tired.

With the Regional coming in 6 days... I have to get everything organized for my Army work and family work.... not to mention getting ready for the regional itself.

I have been working or trying to work on these cards for my wonderful mother in Law Pan, she had asked me for 2 cards for Halloween.

Now I wish that I could take full credits for these cards but My friend Katrina Steele, is the one that came up with the techniques and colors for the images.

It is a combination of masking and using the brayer over glossy white paper.
Now Katrina used various DP and a distressing technique on her cards....

I do not have any of the DP and distressing is not my favorite technique....So... I used the spider web embossing folder from the mini catalogue.  I just love the versatility of these folders.

If you want the colors and the direction on how to make this card.... please email me.... and I will gladly hook you up.

Enjoy

This is it

I took the big plunge and went live....So Scary...

Finally after years of creating in "secret"  Keeping my creations to myself, thinking that it was never good enough, hiding it whenever someone glanced at it, saying that it was not for sale when someone offered to buy it.  I finally am ready to break down the barriers and let it all out.

I think that I need a drink...

I will post more of the projects that I have already completed ... and trust me there is lots of them... but I need first to figure out how to create and place a watermark before I post them...  Any Suggestions??

Well there is no turning back now...... Soldier on!!!

A Work In Progress

Hello,

Here are some more pictures of my workshop... it is far from being finished, but I love everything about it. Even if it is a very small room, the workspace is spacious enough that I am not tripping over myself.... There is even enough room for a friend to come and play : )

The bars and baskets are from IKEA and they are extremely reasonable....$2.99 for a bar and $4.99 for a basket.

New workshop

My wonderful husband is an Engineer in the military, but prior to that he was a cabinet maker. He worked really hard on building me this wonderful piece of furniture so that I can create. He carved the legs himself and made me this outstanding work surface. Thank you Honey, I am so blessed. Please stay tuned for the finish project.
